Apple released the 2nd generation AirPods in March with a new chip, Siri control, 50 % more talk time and also an optional wireless charging case. The 2nd generation wireless earphones “AirPods” missed a few rumored features though.
Maybe these missing features (as per rumors) will come to the AirPods 3 instead? AirPods new edition with brand-new design and style might be close to a successful (hopefully) launch with some new features like water resistance, noise cancellation, more enhanced talk time and a better fit.
This week we have heard lots of gossips about AirPods 3. Apple has not provided any solid information about its upcoming AirPods, but that hasn’t stopped rumors galore hitting the cyber highways.
Regarding noise canceling, the main indication we now have something called “focus mode” in internal iOS code, mentioned in the same 9to5Mac report. This indicates that the user would be able to switch this mode on or off to enable or disable noise canceling.
If even a bit of them come to be true then the Apple AirPods 3 will be completely different from Apple’s current wireless earbuds, AirPods 3 will be the indisputable leader of the industry when it comes to sales. Thanks to a new image spotted by 9to5Mac in the iOS 13.2 beta, so now we have a much better idea of what the AirPods 3 may look like.
The existing AirPods don’t fit safely in-ear due to their one-size-fits-all approach. Adjustable tips could enhance their performance and, make them better fit in the ear and blocking out some external noise.
We would be extremely surprised if Apple decides to launch a new pair of AirPods 3 this year. Last year in December, a most reliable analyst Ming-ChiKuo stated that “A slightly improved edition of the AirPods would go on sale in the first half of 2019 with its proper successor launching in 2020”.
In spite of Apple’s most generous naming system, Kuo has been spot on so far, so we’re probably waiting at a 2020 release for the first true upgrade to the AirPods. It looks like,
Apple has decided to keep all of us in the dark for a bit longer.
