The new MSI MEG Aegis Ti5 Gaming PC looks like a Robot’s head

MSI MEG Aegis Ti5 is a new gaming PC with one of the most ostentatious cases. The style is reminiscent of Portal’s GLaDOS or “I Am Mother’s” AI. It also has a few exciting features up its sleeve. MSI claims that the machine is the “first 5G-compatible gaming PC on the market,” It also has a “gaming button”— a small front display that can monitor and control the device.

The gaming PC is no stranger to sci-fi-inspired designs, but the Aegis Ti5 is on a different level. We especially like how the bottom of the machine is raised from the floor. It’s meant to enhance the case’s ventilation, but when we look at it, it looks like the head of a robot, ready to let the case rotate upwards to look straight into the user’s eyes.

Gaming PC lovers typically avoid pre-built systems like this in favor of separately purchasing their parts and creating their machines. But the benefit of such a PC is how experimental MSI can do it. It would be impossible for a third-party case manufacturer to put in a feature such as the Gaming Dial without an industry-standard connector. Still, MSI can do it with a PC like the Aegis Ti5 because it manages everything from the case to the motherboard.

Internally, it sounds like you’re going to be able to customize the Aegis Ti5 with some incredibly high-end components. MSI said Tom’s Hardware that the specifications are not sufficiently final but should extend to the new Intel Core i9, Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti (or the current Nvidia GPU) RAM 128 GB.

These high-end parts are unlikely to come cheap, not to mention the super custom frame they are housed. An MSI representative said Tom’s Hardware that the Gaming PC could be priced around $4,000 and released in the third quarter of this year. It’s a pretty substantial price premium over what you could build for yourself, but at least you can sleep safely knowing that your gaming setup looks like a pretty sweet robot is guarding it.
