  • Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the PlayStation 4’s HDMI OUT connector on the back.
  • Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to your display device’s HDMI input.
  • Connect the power cord to the AC IN connection on the PlayStation 4’s back.

1. Setup Internet Connection

The next step is to connect to the internet when the console has been turned on. You’ll be able to download games from the PlayStation Store and play online games via the PlayStation Network after you’ve joined. While Ethernet delivers a quicker internet connection, most customers prefer Wi-Fi since it is the most convenient choice.

  • Press Up on the directional controls on your controller to reach the top navigation bar and choose Settings from the Home screen.
  • Select your chosen type of connection – Ethernet or Wi-Fi – from the Settings menu and click Network > Set up Internet Connection.
  • Choose the Simple setup approach, then choose your Wi-Fi network from the list and input the password. If questioned about proxy servers, select “Do Not Use.”
  • Select “Test Internet Connection” next to perform a test to ensure you’re connected to both the internet and the PlayStation Network.

2. PlayStation 4 Remote Play Software Should be Updated

Supply Power to USB Ports will allow you to keep charging any controllers plugged in after the console is turned off. While Stay Connected to the Internet will allow your PS4 to download updated files and content, so your games are ready to play when you return. You can return to your game or app and pick up where you left off if you select to Keep Application Suspended. To enter Rest Mode, press the power button on the PlayStation 4 and choose Power from the home screen, or hold the PS button on the controller and pick Power from the Quick Menu. The light bar (original/Pro model) or power button (Slim versions) will become orange when it’s turned on.
