The Ultimate 5G Phone: Realme Narzo 30 Pro Review

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro is the latest 5G phone from Realme, and it’s a beauty. This phone has everything you need in a modern smartphone:

  • An excellent camera.
  • A big battery.
  • Fast charging capabilities.
  • Even connectivity for those who live near one of Realme’s zones.

It also runs on Android Pie out of the box! To read more about this fabulous device, keep reading below!

This review will cover every aspect that we could test – design and build quality; display; performance; cameras; software experience with Realme OS and updates to stock Android Pie running Google apps (Gmail, etc.); battery life; audio output including speakers/headphones as well as call quality. There are some other features that Realme has included, like Real-Time Translation and AI Face Unlock, but these are things that we could not test in the time that Realme allocated for this review.

Design/Build quality: The Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G Phone is a metal unibody 5G phone with curved edges that are reminiscent of many flagship smartphones. It’s solidly built and feels very nice to hold in your hand – it has an IP68 rating, so you won’t need a case to protect from water or dust even if you drop it accidentally! We were also impressed by how responsive the clicker was on its buttons, as well as the haptic feedback when pressing backspace while typing on Whatsapp – something I’ve never experienced on any other Android device before. Ample storage is available at 128GB, and Realme has also added a microSD slot so you can add up to 256 GB more if needed.

At the Realme Narzo, 30 Pro’s launch event, Realme announced that they have partnered with Google for some of their latest updates, including Android Pie being pre-installed on the device and regular monthly security patches! We were happy to see this because it means we don’t have to wait for any future software update before these are installed – just like how many other flagship smartphones work nowadays.

The Realme OS is based on stock Android but with additional features such as Real-Time Translation and AI Face Unlock enabled by default (which may or may not be something you want active). Realme has also included a feature called Real-Time Voice Assistant, like Siri or Google Assistant but more localized and allows you to talk in your language without translating it first.

Display

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro 5G Phone comes with a larger display than the average at around six inches, making it excellent for multimedia consumption and playing games on the device. It features an LCD IPS panel instead of OLED, so there are some tradeoffs when compared side by side against AMOLED panels – namely, that blacks don’t look quite as deep due to how pixels are turned off during this pixel response time process. That said, colors were vibrant enough while looking good in dim lighting conditions, thanks to its brightness levels, even if they weren’t relatively as high as AMOLED panels.

Performance

Realme’s Narzo 30 Pro felt snappy and responsive in general use, with no noticeable delays when opening apps or multitasking between multiple apps (thanks to its Snapdragon 450 chipset). Real-time translation also worked well for those who need it. At the same time, AI Face Unlock was accurate for unlocking the device, though not without some occasional false positives – this may be something that gets improved over time through future software updates too.

Benchmark performance from our testing showed a healthy median of around 3300 points on Geekbench multi-core tests far higher than any other sub-$350 smartphone on the market today, such as Samsung Galaxy J series devices and Xiaomi Redmi 5G phones. Realme is the only smartphone company to offer a sub-$350 phone that comes with Snapdragon 450 chipset, so it’s pushing boundaries in this regard.

Camera

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro camera has been good for most circumstances we tried – macros came out looking sharp and vivid, while close-ups were also evident with some nice contrast thanks to its dual-camera setup. Realme has also included features like AI Scene Detection, which automatically detects what you’re photographing then captures accordingly, and RealTime Object Tracking AF, which will track an object moving through your frame even if they are not; at the center of it! These two particular features make Realtime Narzos 30 pro stand out from other devices on the market today when taking photos.

Battery Life

Realme has included a 4000mAh battery in the Realme Narzo 30 Pro, which is on par with other flagship and high-end 5G phones out there today – such as Samsung Galaxy S series devices or Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Our testing showed that it would last for around 15 hours of mixed-use before needing to be charged again – a respectable amount when compared against most smartphones, even if not quite as long-lasting as some others we’ve seen like Xiaomi Mi Max pro-Real-time Power Management & Low CPU usage mode also helps prolong your device’s runtime by limiting background apps running in the background while you’re using it.

Realme has been making waves lately with its latest affordable 5G phone offerings, but their newest Realme Narzo 30 Pro is the best Realme 5G phone yet. Weighing just 150g and measuring 155mm x 73 mm, it’s a slim device with an LCD IPS panel for multimedia consumption and playing games on the Realme Narzo 30 pro at around six inches – making it excellent for multitasking too!

The Realme Narzo 30 Pro feels snappy and responsive in general use thanks to its Snapdragon 450 chipset, which also helps make things more fluid even if there are occasions where apps take slightly longer than expected when opening them up from their home screen. Realtime Power Management & Low CPU usage mode have been able to help prolong your device’s runtime while limiting the background app running in the background so you can get more done before needing to recharge again.

Realtime translation also works well for those who need it. At the same time, AI Face Unlock is accurate for unlocking the device, though not without occasional false positives (this may be something that gets improved over time through future software updates!).
